Barber Shop Chronicles at West Yorkshire Playhouse

Exuberant and moving, the energetic cast of new production Barber Shop Chronicles address identity and masculinity from the barber’s chair.

Written by rising literary star Inua Ellams, this West Yorkshire Playhouse, National Theatre and Fuel coproduction follows clippers and combs from London to Lagos and beyond, playing in Leeds fresh from a sell-out run at the National’s Dorfman Theatre.

Production images available here give a glimpse of the vibrant cast celebrating the role of the barber shop as a space that goes beyond just a place for a trim.

Barber Shop Chronicles plays at West Yorkshire Playhouse from 12 – 29 July, before returning to the Dorfman for a run in November.
