Light Night Illuminated Carnival Parade: Umbrella Workshop Sign-Up
This year, Light Night Leeds is offering a unique opportunity to participate in a workshop with members of the contemporary circus company, Cirque Bijou, and the opportunity to take part in the festivals Illuminated Night Carnival Parade.
Participants will learn how to use Cirque Bijou's Illuminated Umbrellas, and will learn short routines/movement sequences to perform during the parade. You don't need to be a dancer - just enthusiastic! Inspired by the rainbow colours of the umbrellas, we are specifically looking for members of the LGBTQ+ community to take part.
During the parade you will be joined by some exciting art lanterns, drummers, dancers and performers from Leeds West Indian Carnival. It’s due to be our most exciting parade to date – and will no doubt be a really unique experience.
Participants will be expect to arrive at 4pm for a 2 hour workshop, and will then have a break before taking part in the parade at 7.30-8.30pm.
Please note that this workshop is for participants ages 16 and above only. Participants will need to be able to hold up an umbrella for a sustained amount of time. If you have any queries about the workshop or parade, including access queries, please contact Sammy on email@example.com
This opportunity is on a first come first served basis. You will receive an email notification confirming your place – there is also a waiting list.
