LGBTQ+ Inclusion Project - More Projects ⤵️
The aim of the workshops is to reduce barriers for LGBTQ+ people accessing healthcare services. The LGBTQ+ project is focused on those with autism, learning disabilities and mental health difficulties due to facing additional barriers. We have a set of self-advocacy workshops for LGBTQ+ people who have mental health difficulties starting next week on Tuesday 8th October.
The course runs for 7 weeks, between 6-8pm every Tuesday evening and it will be at Voluntary Action Leeds. It’s going to be a supportive workshop where people can share experiences, learn how to speak up for their rights and overcome barriers. It will be run by people with lived experience of being LGBTQ+ and had mental health difficulties.
They also have one’s for LGBTQ+ people who are learning disabled (of which an easy read poster is available) starting in November and one for autistic people starting in December.
