Spitalfields creative studio, MbE, arrives at BLK BX Leeds with new pop-up store and hub
Established in London’s Spitalfields in 2017, by renowned tailor, Timothy Everest MBE and advertising creative, Danny Kellard, MbE brings together and showcases the best of British craftsman, materials and designers and on 6th September they’re bringing their successful concept to BLK BX at Trinity Leeds.
In amongst their own ready to wear range that draws inspiration from classic military and workwear styles, with luxury hand crafted twists, the MbE store will curate and champion products from other like-minded menswear brands, such as The Shoreditch Laundry, Marcus De and Hancock to name but a few. Tim is also bringing his own incredible heritage and eponymous style with MbE’s bespoke and made to measure offering too.
Timothy said “Having worked in the industry for over 30 years and dressed some of world’s most famous people, Made by Everyone is the backbone of our mission to showcase British style and for me represents the most agile way to collaborate with other brands. We’re excited to bring our concept to Leeds this Autumn.”
Danny adds, “Both Tim and I love the energy and can do attitude of Leeds and its appreciation for well crafted, stylish clothing – it’s what’s attracted us to the city for first store outside of London.”
Andrew Russell, Portfolio Director at Trinity Leeds, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Made by Everyone to BLK BX, which provides a fantastic opportunity for independent, online and international retailers to showcase their products to a new audience. We truly believe Leeds visitors will be delighted with the arrival of MbE. Whether it’s a suit, jacket, trousers or a pair of jeans, visitors will be able to buy bespoke garments alongside some fabulous menswear brands.”
About the founders
Timothy Everest MBE (or Tim as he is known to his friends and clients), began his career with the legendary Savile Row tailor, Tommy Nutter, who dressed the Beatles, Mick Jagger and David Hockney to name but a few. Tim has followed in Tommy's footsteps dressing a myriad of rock stars, artists, actors and politicians and has a long history in the provision of the iconic wardrobes for major films such as Atonement, Skyfall and the Mission Impossible franchise. The consummate designer and collaborator, he has also designed tailored ranges for brands such as Rapha, La Martina and Superdry.
In 2010, Tim was awarded an MBE for his services to tailoring.
Danny Kellard is an advertising creative director by trade who has produced many award-winning campaigns for global brands at some of the world’s top agency networks such as Bates/Cordiant, Publicis and WPP. Danny is also an entrepreneur for whom the modern term “portfolio career” truly applies.
He has been a founder-owner of his own agencies over the years and a partner and co-owner at one of the world’s greatest recording facilities – Air Studios in London, originally set up by legendary Beatles producer Sir George Martin.
Alongside MbE, Elder Street, is the strategic creative agency that both Tim and Danny founded that specialises in luxury and craft brands, with clients such as Rolls-Royce, La Martina and McLaren to name but a few.
MbE at BLK BX Trinity Leeds runs from 6th September to 1st December
