A shopping centre in Leeds is launching a first-of-its-kind service to help workers and residents in the city with last-minute Christmas present buying – the ‘Santaroo’ service will hand-deliver Trinity Leeds gift cards to people needing that emergency present for a friend or loved one.

Consumers looking to buy a gift card as a Christmas present for a friend or relative can email or Tweet the Santaroo service and a delivery driver will cycle to their location – either their home, their office or even their work Christmas party – and hand-deliver their gift card.

David Maddison, General Manager at Trinity Leeds, said: “For every person that’s already bought and wrapped their gifts this year, we know there’s another who isn’t quite as well-organised.“Experience tells us, particularly in the week before Christmas, that there’s a lot of last-minute present-buying which, for some people, becomes panic buying as the big day gets nearer and gift ideas and time start to run out.

“We wanted to do something to help a little, so we’ve launched our Santaroo service which is a first for the UK.“

A Trinity Leeds gift card is an ideal present as it can be used not just in our shops, but in our bars, restaurants, Trinity Kitchen and Everyman cinema, too.

“And now it can be hand-delivered in Leeds to your door, your desk or even your office do.”

The Santaroo service, which will operate in the last week before Christmas (18-22 December), can be ordered via email, Santaroo@trinityleeds.com, or a Twitter DM to @TrinityLeeds.

Gift Cards can be purchased in values from £5 to £500 and payment can be made by credit or debit card. The service will operate in Leeds city centre only.
